A. M. Ambrosini Massari - Abstract
The
article takes stock of the presences of Bologna artists and works of art in
17th century Marches, which allow us to follow the crucial changes that open up
to new way of collecting and behave in
patronage. Artists from Bologna becomes favorites at least for the entire first half of the
century. Especially at the beginning of the seventeenth century they arrive mostly from Rome rather than from
Bologna and an important gathering center was the Basilica of Loreto, while the
diffusion of a new spirituality, such as that of San Filippo
Neri contributes to the foundation of important Oratori also in the Marches, such as that in Fermo and Fano.
We
find works of the most important bolognese and also emilian artists spread in the Region, from Ludovico
Carracci to Guido Reni, from Guercino to Alessandro Tiarini, from Carlo Bononi to
Francesco Albani, the path of a new and incisive
phase for the artistic and cultural history of the Region is here traced and it
is reflected in the larger events of the history of art of the seventeenth
century between classicism and baroque.
